Meet My Latest Fabric Collection 🌸 + Fall Patchwork

My Latest Fabric Collection: Mary Catherine + More Fall-Inspired Patchwork

Greetings friends!

Happy Fall! I hope October is treating you well. Honestly, it hasn't felt like October. Until today. The temps have dropped and it's rainy and moody outside. And I'm good with that. I'm in the mood for sweater weather.

I've got some very fun news to share this week!

My Latest Fabric Collection is Here: Meet Mary Catherine

It’s here! My Mary Catherine fabric collection 🌸with Riley Blake Designs is officially available in stores! This sweet, vintage-inspired line is full of nostalgic florals, ribbons, and soft pastels—perfect for quilts, home projects, and more. I’ve shared all the details, plus lots of inspirational photos, and project ideas over on the blog.

I've also got a bunch of favorite quilt patterns made up with Mary Catherine. AND, in honor of the collection release, these patterns are all marked down 20% off this week! Many of them are perfect for using up a Layer Cake, Jelly Roll or Fat Quarter Bundle. So if you want a Mary Catherine quilt without having to buy lots of yardage, here are a few perfect options.

There are also links to shops that have kits for these quilts!

Or use one of these patterns to use up Precuts or FQ bundles you've already got in your stash!

(If you have a shop stocking 🎀 Mary Catherine, let me know - I'd love to add you to the list!)

Fall Inspired Patchwork

In the mood sew something fall-ish, but don't have time to tackle a big project? Why not pull out those fall-vibe scraps and prints and put together a quick pillow or table runner. Get the joy of pulling colors and prints without having to commit to a big finish.

Here's an example of how to make a fun Broken Dishes patchwork pillow, or Hour Glass Table runner. This project is perfect for 5" precuts as well. I just pulled out the pillow and matching table runner again last night.

Heather from My Sew Quilty Life has a cute, whimsical free pattern for a Party Pumpkin block. (This is a bit of a splurge, but have you seen Heather's amazing Sewing Room Block of the Month quilt?! It's incredible.)

Here's some more Maple Leaf quilt block inspiration with this Mini Modern Maples patchwork pillow from Sew Jess, perfect for using scraps.

And here's a different take on fall leaves with this Autumn Leaf Hot Pad tutorial from Crafty Staci.

Well, my favorite month of the year is now passed, but I'm feeling pretty good about the time I took to get out and enjoy it. Particularly Garden of Quilts. And I think I'm ready for October's cooler temps (especially now that hot flashes are in full force in my life. 😅🥵)

I'm lucky to live in such an amazing place with gorgeous Octobers. Here is this week's view point from a hike with a friend yesterday in the mountains near my home:

Knowing it was going to storm and blow today, we made the effort to make sure we got up to see the aspens in their glory before the colder winds take down some of that glow. I can tell I'm getting older because the majesty of nature is so inspiring and healing to me. I said something like that to my friend, and she wisely said, "Or we're just getting better at recognizing what really matters."

The world continues to weigh a bit heavy with innocent people being harmed in too many places. I hate that. But I'm inspired by watching the goodness of neighbors and communities coming in to show love and support. As Mr. Rogers wisely says, "Look for the helpers". Keep your eyes on them.

Another group of quilters always in need of continued support is the makers ofOne Common Thread. Right now the inventory of quilts and kits is huge and director Courtney is offering a 30% discount with code 30OFFQUILTS at checkout so they can keep supporting these makers.

(I bought a quilted coat from them at Garden of Quilts and it's so dang cute and really well made. I realized, I love the look of quilted coats, but don't have time to make one right now. Supporting this cause and getting a finished coat was a huge win-win! They've got a bunch of cute quilted jackets available right now.)

As always, thank you so much for stopping by. And bless you in all the good things you're trying to do in the world!

Amy
