New Baby Quilt 🧵 Pattern + Table Runner Tutorials for Thanksgiving

New Baby Quilt Pattern Release, Table Runner Ideas for Thanksgiving, Drawstring Bag Pattern Book Giveaway

Happy Weekend Everyone!

How's everyone feeling about the fact that it's November? I'm in a bit of a state of disbelief that we're heading into the final months of 2025, but for the most part I'm surprisingly cool with the idea. (Surprising myself, that is.)

Fun things to share this week!

New Baby Sugarhouse Star Quilt Pattern release

Need a quick baby gift? I've updated my Baby Sugarhouse Star pattern and it is now available in a printed pattern format.

This traditional quilt is easy so cute in any palette. I've got a few new versions to share including a scrappy version made with Mary Catherine prints and a two-tone version that gives the quilt a modern vibe.

To celebrate the release, this pattern is 20% off this week only. Get the details and sample photos - plus my favorite tips for making Half Square Triangles.

Free Fall Table Runner Ideas and Tutorials

Thanksgiving is around the corner here in the US and maybe your table could use a fun refresh? I put together an updated list of table runner tutorials - most of them free! - that are perfect for fall.

Even if you're not hosting the big meal, table runners make a great hostess gift.

AND table runners are like mini quilts in that they're such a great way to play with a new quilt block or fabric palette, and because it's not a huge project, chances are higher that it'll get finished.

Even if you're not interested in making a table runner right now, you might also enjoy checking out the beautiful fall color palettes in these projects. Lots of inspiration and variety in this list.

Fun Finds on the Web - Cozy Materials Version

I love working with wool/felt - it's so forgiving and soft in your hands, not to mention looks so beautiful. I totally want to try making these wool felt boxes using this tutorial from Suzy Quilts. I can think of SO many great uses for them. And they look like they come together really quick!

This sweatshirt idea from Elizabeth of Quilter's Candy adding embellishments to a sweatshirt using reverse applique methods is so much fun! These would make great gifts too, not to mention perfect for using up scraps. And a great way to repurpose an old sweatshirt.

How pretty are these luxe-looking quilted pillow shams made with cotton velveteen? Sarah Hearts shows how to make them.

Speaking of Table Runners, Amy Chappell of Ameroonie Designs is hosting a free Christmas Table Runner sew along November 17-20. You can sign-up here. And checkout Amy's Instagram Post for a peek at the project.

I hope this newsletter finds you well and getting cozy for fall. (At least to all of you Northern Hemisphere folks. Happy Spring to you folks in the southern half of the globe!)

Here's the view of my favorite fall spots. This was taken about a month ago.

Those leaves are gone at the higher elevations now, but the leaves in my neighborhood are having their turn putting on a show to enjoy.

Today I finally put on my big-girl pants and attacked the yard work that I've been avoiding. 😅 We had our first real freeze of the year this week and my zinnias that have lasted SO beautifully until now were zapped by the frost, killing them overnight. I was tempted to leave their dead, gray stems as extra spooky Halloween decorations, but my pride got the better of me and I pulled them out yesterday afternoon before the neighborhood walked past my yard all evening trick-or-treating.

Still more yard work to do (mainly many leaves yet to rake) before I can check "Fall Clean Up" off the list for 2025, but I made a good dent in it today, so I'm letting myself sew for the rest of the evening. :)

As always, thanks so much for stopping by. And thank you so much for the kind things you write to me. Your replies make my day! I love this quilting community. ❤

See you next week!
