The Scandi Hearts Quilt Pattern πŸŽ„ Last Minute Handmade Gifts 🎁

NEW: Scandi Heart Pattern Available + Last Minute Handmade Gifts

Happy Weekend and Happy Holiday Season!

In the words of the Grinch - Christmas is practically here! Well, thank goodness we still have another week and a half, because this mom still has a lot stuff to check off the list. (Plus a stomach bug this week didn't help with that to-do list.) AND I'm still enjoying the lights, sights, and sounds of the season. And hopefully the food again.

If you're like me and rapidly running out of time, but still want a little taste of Christmas sewing here are a few last-minute ideas for you. As well as a reminder that it's okay if you're not getting to all of the little details. More on that below. But first:

Meet the Scandi Hearts Quilt Pattern!

I’m so excited to finally share my new Scandi Hearts Quilt Pattern! It’s a sweet, modern heart quilt with a cozy Scandinavian vibe (think woven paper hearts and all the hygge feels). The timing is short to get one done in time for Christmas this year, but if you're like me, it's a great time to get a start on next year's Christmas quilt while you're in the Christmas mood πŸ˜‰ or a head start on Valentines!

This is a great skill-builder project with lots of strip-piecing short-cuts to make the blocks come together quick! The pattern is 25% off this week only (through 12/20) and will not be at this discount again.

I'll be hosting a quilt along in January. Click here if you want to get notifications about the Scandi Hearts Quilt Along.

16 Handmade Gift Ideas That You Can Sew In An Afternoon

If you're looking for some last minute ideas that you can sew for Christmas gifts, Stacey Lee Creative has the perfect list for you! Guest contributor Stacey shares 16 easy sewing gifts you can make in an afternoon - think cute bookmarks, zipper pouches, key fobs, coasters, and more.

These projects are beginner-friendly, scrap-friendly, and perfect for teachers, neighbors, friends, and stockings.

Fun Finds on the Web: Quick Christmas Projects

I don't know how you feel, but my favorite time for Christmas sewing is at Christmas time. Which is kind of silly, considering how much other stuff I need to do, but still, here we are.

As a result, I love smaller scale Christmas sewing projects because they're faster and easier to finish, but still provide that fun Christmas-sewing-pleasure during the busy-ness of the season. (And maybe a break from time to time.)

Here are a few ideas for small-scale Christmas making while you're in the holiday mood:

Christmas Pillows

Fun Christmas pillow ideas if you're in the mood to make (or in need of) a quick seasonal project finish. And if you see something you love, but this isn't the year to tackle it, remember you can always pin the post for next year!

Handmade Christmas Ornaments

I've rounded up a bunch of fun ideas for Handmade Christmas ornaments. Many of them are something fun you can mass-produce in an afternoon.

There are also some "no-sew" options perferct for a quick craft project that can be done with kids or grandkids!

Okay, my last thought for today kind of flies in the face of everything I just shared above. That list of fun projects can be super inspiring and get your creative juices flowing OR it can be totally overwhelming.

SO, before I sign off, I just want to gently remind you: you don’t have to do it all.

It’s so easy this time of year to feel like we’re responsible for everyone’s magic - every gift, every tradition, every moment. But it’s perfectly okay to let some things go, to simplify, or to say β€œnot this year.”

And some years are full of unexpected extra events and needs. We had one of those last year. Showing up for people who needed us just became the bigger priority. Especially over sewing.

Your people need you - not the perfect cookies, not the perfectly wrapped presents, just your loving, imperfect, present self.

On top of that, I'm sure you have your own list of unexpected challenges, people who need extra love and support, and other December happenings. If you're not getting much time in for sewing, know you're not alone. ❀️

Give yourself the same kindness and breathing room you’d gladly offer a friend.

So count this as official permission from me: You don't have to do ALL of the things.

Hang in there, friends!

xo,

Amy
