New 😍 Projects on My Sewing Table + 🍓Sewing Ideas

What's New + 🍓Sewing Ideas +Tips for Working With Scraps

Greetings Friends! I hope this week's edition finds you happy and well. We're in the thick of summer (at least here in the Northern Hemisphere) which feels perfect for sharing this list simple 🍓 summer sewing ideas. I've also got a guest post with some great tips for curating your scraps for a cohesive quilt.

But first: what's new on my Sewing Table

In my latest post I'm sharing more about what I'm working on right now including: a very fun, scrappy vintage-inspired quilt design that's been on my bucket list for a few years. It's more intricate piecing than usual for me, but I'm totally hooked on the process and loving the results. Also I'm finally writing up a quilt block design that's been floating around my brain for even longer.

Also, adorable, scrappy zipper pouches. Pretty much, I'm just in the mood to sew and I'm not getting much else done.

Summer, summer, summer. How's it treating you? I feel like it's flying by and I have mixed feelings about that.

I'm a little late getting my newsletter out tonight because (confession) I got sucked into the England v France World Cup match. It was too much fun to watch. And I was live texting my sisters so I had to stay engaged. Plus that was probably the most exciting match I've ever watched.

In other news, I've been on a huge clean-out kick this month (hence finding a couple of quilts I'd totally forgotten about!) This week I went back to that closest with an even more realistic mindset about what was worth saving and what needed to be passed along to someone else. Just this afternoon I loaded the whole back of my car and dropped off a huge load to my local crafting-thrift shop, Making Space Thrift.

I wish I'd taken a picture of the back of my car before the drop off.

It felt SO GOOD! Seeing that place packed with eager crafters ready to repurpose good finds made me so happy to let go of things I've had stashed away for a long time.

I've finally accepted that I'm just not going to get to "all of the things" and I'm happy to pass them on to someone else. 😊

So bonus points for me this month because A) I definitely got rid of SO much more fabric than I acquired and B) my latest new project is going to be stash ONLY. I did the pull already and I'm super excited about it.

If you’re looking for a little summer pick-me-up, clear out the things you know you’ll never get to, and enjoy the freedom of making space for the projects you’re truly excited about.

Sending you happy sewing (or cleaning) vibes this week.

xo,

Amy
