🌈 Rainbows + Shamrock ☘ projects + Machine Quilting Tips

Hello friends!

It's almost MARCH! Woohoo. I love March. My first round of crocus flowers have officially bloomed and that makes me so happy. Spring is finally on it's way (even if it's in fits and starts).

If you're in need of some cheery sewing projects to get you through until the spring weather officially arrives to stay, I've put together a list of Rainbow + Shamrock sewing and quilting projects from a bunch of different quilters and designers.

There's a variety of styles, project sizes, and difficulty levels to choose from. Everything from full quilts to quick mini's, blocks or pouches and gift ideas.

Click Below for the full list and some cheery color to brighten your day!

Machine Quilting Tips Using a Walking Foot

If you want an easy, no-fuss way to finish a quilt, straight-line quilting is one of my favorites. In today’s post I’m sharing a few simple tips for quilting on a home sewing machine, plus why a walking foot (or dual-feed foot) makes such a difference for smooth stitching and fewer puckers—and the quick difference between the two so you can use what works best for your machine.

Guest Post: Binding Alternative - Quilt Facing with Shereece

Want a clean, modern finish on a quilt—without a binding “frame” on the front? This guest post is all about quilt facing, a simple alternative to binding that lets your quilt design run right to the edge while still giving you a neat, professional finish on the back.

In the tutorial (plus video), you’ll see exactly how to attach facing strips, turn them to the back, and use a quick glue-basting trick to keep those wider strips smooth before stitching. If you’ve never tried facing before, this is a great one to bookmark!

A short note today. I've been on a warm-weather getaway with my boyfriend/husband/Italian lover (they're conveniently all rolled into one person). A few years ago we started a tradition of going to a warm weather place to escape the end-of-winter-blahs in Utah.

The week before we left felt incredibly busy (with mostly good things but also some sad things). It has been nice to take a break from the busy parts of life and just sit.

I had big plans to catch up on so many things while we were away. Instead I just slept and sat and looked at water (and even went in said water) and ate as many tacos and as much guacamole as I could.

And I am feeling refreshed.

As a chronic multi-tasker, I'm still trying to learn how to just sit and be still sometimes.

Someday I'll learn how.

As always, thanks so much for stopping by. Wishing you all a happy week ahead.

xo,

Amy
